3 Tips For an Effective Contact Page

July 28, 2021

Let’s start this one off by saying something very important. A PSA if you will: every single page of your website serves a unique and essential purpose. In this post, we’re sharing 3 tips for an effective contact page. For the purpose of this blog post, we’re defining an effective contact page as  — a page of your website that makes your visitor want to contact you and sets the stage for their experience ahead.

3 tips for a effective contact page

It may seem obvious at first: it should have your contact information and a form, right? Well, kind of. We are firm believers in strategic design and therefore believe every page of your website has a purpose. The purpose of your contact page is to inspire, empower, and supply your visitors with the means to connect with you.

So, let’s dive in and explore 3 tips for an effective contact page:

1. Include different ways to contact you

Every business is unique, but we recommend including all of the ways you’d like to be contacted on this page. This could include your address, your email address, your phone number, social media platforms, and a contact form. Doing so lowers barriers to contact. Plus, it supplies and empowers your visitors to reach out to you in the way they feel most comfortable doing so. We’d like to reiterate, ONLY include contact methods you would feel comfortable with. In other words, if phone communication isn’t your preference or part of your client experience, you may want to reconsider including your phone number on your contact page.

2.Set expectations

Your contact page is the perfect place to set expectations for what a prospective client can expect. This is why Including your business hours, and sharing reply timelines/expectations can be very helpful and can set the tone for future experiences. For example, our business hours are Monday – Friday from 10 AM – 5 PM CST. Our contact page shares our business hours and lets visitors know they can expect a reply from us within 24-48 business hours. Setting these expectations and offering transparency helps to kick off a trusting and communication-driven client experience. Likewise, you might add a line to your form that mentions where pricing starts, that way potential clients know what to expect to invest if they are reaching out.

Keep your forms concise

At Leona Collective, we include a concise form on our Contact page. Forms are meant to bring ease to filling out forms. In this day and age, people are timid about filling out a form that has too much of their information. You want this experience to establish clear trust and communication, get the basics you need from them and save the longer form, with more questions for your onboarding process.

That’s it friends! Keep it smart and strategic. Leverage every page of your website to establish that trust factor that is important when building a community and attracting clients. We really hope these 3 tips for an effective contact page help you spiff up your contact page. Know someone who needs to read this? We’d love it if you’d share!
